Terms

What you are buying, how renewal and cancellation work, and what a reading is and is not.

Who you are buying from

Fu Fortunes is the trading name of Drunken Authority LLC, a California limited liability company. Throughout these terms, “I” and “Fu” mean that company, and “you” means the person placing an order. Readings and workshops take place in and around Los Angeles; the company itself is registered at the address below.

What you are buying

The Monthly Letter is a fengshui reading written for the calendar month and posted to you. Every subscriber in a given month receives the same reading — it is calculated from that month’s flying stars and the almanac, not from your birth chart. Your name is written on the pass by hand, but the reading itself is not personalised.

Written reports are prepared individually from details you provide after ordering, and are delivered by email as a PDF.

Live readings are booked by arrangement and take place by video or in person.

Workshops and shop items are described on their own pages at the time of sale.

Prices, currency and renewal

All prices are in US dollars. If your card is issued in another currency, your bank sets the exchange rate and may add its own fee.

PlanUnited StatesOutside the USRenews
Monthly letter$18.88 / month$21.88 / monthEvery month
Annual letter$188 / year$228 / yearEvery year
Six-month gift$108$128Does not renew

Prices outside the US include international postage. There is nothing further to add at checkout and no separate shipping charge.

Automatic renewal. The monthly and annual plans renew automatically until you cancel. Your card is charged at the start of each period at the price shown above. I will tell you by email before any price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.

The six-month gift is a single purchase. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, and you never have to ask me for permission or explain why.

Manage or cancel your subscription here. Enter the email address you subscribed with and Stripe sends you a link to your own billing page, where you can cancel, update your card, or correct your mailing address yourself. The same link appears in every payment receipt.

You can also send a note through the contact form and I will cancel it for you. A cancellation stops the next renewal. You keep every letter already sent, and you keep access for the period you have already paid for.

Refunds

Cancelling stops future charges. Letters already posted are not refunded — each one is made, stamped and mailed by hand, so once it is in the post the cost is spent.

If a letter is lost in the post, or arrives damaged, tell me and I will send another at no charge. If I have charged you in error, or charged you twice, I will refund it in full.

Written reports are refundable up until I begin work on them. Once a report has been written and delivered, it is not refundable, because the work is done and cannot be returned.

When letters arrive

Letters are posted from Los Angeles in the first week of each month. Subscribe on or before the 20th and your first letter goes out in the next mailing; after the 20th, the one after that.

Delivery times depend on your postal service and are outside my control. International post can take several weeks. I cannot guarantee an arrival date, and I am not able to refund a letter for arriving later than you hoped.

It is your responsibility to keep your mailing address current. If a letter is returned because the address was wrong or out of date, I will happily resend it once you send me the correct address, but I may ask you to cover the postage.

What a reading is, and what it is not

Fengshui, Chinese astrology and tarot are traditions of interpretation. What I write is offered as a frame for reflection and for your own decision-making.

It is not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for any of them. Nothing in a letter, report or reading should be relied on in place of a doctor, a therapist, a lawyer or a licensed financial adviser. Decisions you make after reading are your own.

The work itself

The letters, reports, artwork, calligraphy, seals, translations and writing on this site are mine, and are licensed to you for your own personal use. Please enjoy them, keep them, and show them to people.

Please do not reproduce, resell or publish them commercially, or pass them off as your own, without asking me first. If you would like to share something more widely — a photograph, a quotation, a class handout — write and ask. I almost always say yes.

Changes to these terms

I may update this page as the practice changes. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects an active subscription, I will tell you by email before it applies to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. If something goes wrong between us, I would much rather sort it out directly — please write to me first.

Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
